WHAT HAPPENED THIS WEEK…
No Vienna this week! Sorry! I’ve been to Vienna from Monday to Wednesday, working for most of the time and to be honest neither motivation nor time was available. On Wednesday evening the countryside was calling and I had to go. Well I was going to visit my parents and the area I grew up for a few days, more precisely the small town of Laa an der Thaya. Laa is well known for two things: First of all the thermal bath and secondly the fact that “Laa/Thaya” is the final destination written on many trains going from Vienna to the north of Lower Austria. Located directly at the Czech border, the town isn’t really exciting at all so I concentrated on the prosperous fields and the surrounding nature. The moody weather on arrival at Wednesday made me immediately stop on my way home and shoot a few images!
The next few days have been quite hot and I just made it out photographing one more time, check the moody pictures below! 😉
image of the week
Every week I’ll select one image I like the most out of all images shot in the given week. I’ll try to explain the circumstances of the photograph and what makes it special to me.
Well, I think I can honestly say that I never witnessed such a dramatic sunset in my life. It was completely crazy! The dark-blue clouds contrasted by the orange-esque sunset – and all that playing in the background of the ruins of Staatzer Berg, a former castle. Staatzer Berg (translates to mountain of Staatz, that’s how the small village is called) is kind of the only thing you could call a mountain in the area of Laa/Thaya. I’m still quite fascinated by the light-and-shadow-contrast, the different colors emerging and the sky changing almost every second. That’s my favorite picture this week!
